Meet our Instructors

Chen has a strong background in Finance & Economics classes and over 6 years worth of teaching experience. His favourite classes are COMM 308, FINA 385/395 and ECON 222.

Merlin holds a Masters in Teaching Mathematics, Concordia University 2008 (Specialized in Technology Integration into math classes). Was a Math TA, a marker and a member of Math Help Center at Concordia University. He has also taught at Dawson College. Merlin has over 10 years teaching experience and has helped hundreds of studets at both high school and undergraduate level. His style of teaching focuses on not only solving a problem, but also confirming that your solution is correct. Merlin enjoys puzzles and has a heads rubiks cube club.

For over 12 years, Tommy has been delivering exceptional results, transforming student anxiety into academic achievement. His talent lies in simplifying difficult concepts in economics and accounting, a skill that has earned him a reputation as one of our most effective tutors. His advanced credentials—a Bachelor's and Master's in Economics (with honors) from Concordia University, followed by an accounting certificate from McGill—ensure that students learn from a true subject-matter expert.

Ali completed his Honours Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Concordia University and obtained his CPA the following year. With over 10 years of teaching experience, he’s become a student favourite for courses such as COMM 217 and COMM 305. Ali also specializes in upper-level accounting courses, including ACCO 310, ACCO 330, and ACCO 340.

Yara is currently an M.Sc student at Concordia University in Civil Engineering. Has over 3 years teaching experience. She has been a teaching assistant in both her undergraduate and graduate studies. Her focus is mainly on Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.

Fay joined the Qin Academy team in the Winter of 2018. She teaches 400 level FINA classes and CFA classes with Qin Academy. Fay completed her CFA level 2 in June of 2017.

Sheng graduated from Concordia University with a BComm in Finance and has taught with Qin Academy since 2016.

Ophelia graduated with honors in BComm of Accounting from Concordia University. Loves teaching COMM 217 among other classes. Has over 5 years experience teaching. She loves bubble tea!!

Shen completed his level 2 CFA in June of 2017.

Phd in Chemistry at McGill University. Graduated from Concordia with great distinction and was awarded the Chemistry Medal. Has been teaching with Qin Academy for the past 5 years and is very experienced at explaining topics in Math, Physics, and Chemistry.

Charles obtained his BComm. in Accounting from Concordia University and has over 5 years teaching experience with Qin Academy. Whether you're attending one of his classes or seeing him privately, Wenhan will keep you engaged at all times! He loves playing tennis and chances are you will see him at a Rogers Cup event.

Yuqian is currently in the process of completing her Phd in Mathematics at Concordia University and has taught with Qin Academy for 3 years.
